Arab Americans Get Set for Busy Week @ DNC

 

Fifty-five Arab American delegates and committee members are currently attending this year’s DNC, representing 18 different states. The Arab American Institute will highlight the background and experiences of two Arab American delegates per day, starting with Devon Abdallah, a first-time delegate from Washington, and Ismael Ahmed, a long-time party veteran representing Michigan.


Obama for America Names National Co-chairs

CHICAGO – Obama for America announced today the campaign’s National Co-Chairs, a diverse group of leaders from around the country committed to re-electing President Obama. They will serve as ambassadors for the President, advise the campaign on key issues, and help engage and mobilize voters in all 50 states.


Donna Brazile to Meet with Cornel West

Donna Brazile, the interim chair of the Democratic National Committee, said Thursday that she plans to meet with Cornel West, the outspoken Princeton University professor who has openly criticized President Barack Obama’s leadership and questioned his commitment to uplifting the African-American community.  

“I’ll be talking to Cornel West at Princeton University,” Brazile said, “and we’re going to address some of these issues.”
