There is an old Ghanaian proverb that says, “Until the lions have their own historians, tales of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.”
 
 
Journalism is the first draft of history. In the wake of Democrats’ shellacking in the midterm elections, many journalists and pundits blamed low black turnout for their losses. They compared 2010 turnout with 2008, but that is like comparing apples and oranges. Turnout is always higher in a presidential election year.
 
 

New Ad Campaign Targets African-American Mental Health

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has launched  a national public service advertising (PSA) campaign designed to raise awareness of mental health problems among young adults in the African American community.

SAMSHA is working with the Ad Council and the Stay Strong Foundation.
