Washington, DC - Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, a Senior Member of the House Judiciary Committee, has just hand delivered a letter signed by 65 of her Democratic colleagues asking Speaker Boehner to reconsider his decision to bring to the Floor the Contempt Citation against Attorney General Eric Holder. The Congresswoman released the following statement:
The battle continues. In 1969, a klansman said “n-ggers will have to fight for every inch he gets from now on.”
And here were stand. On February 26, 2012, Trayvon Martin was murdered by George Zimmerman. Trayvon’s crime may simply have been being Black, alone, and thus vulnerable to racially motivated attacks.
During a speech at Northwestern University’s Law School, Attorney General Eric Holder explained that the American government can kill American citizens abroad under the following conditions, ”First, the U.S. government has determined, after a thorough and careful review, that the individual poses an imminent threat of violent attack against the United States; second, capture is not feasible; and third, the operation would be conducted in a manner consistent with applicable law of war principles.”
