Boulder, CO - Just got to the focal point of the nation - perhaps the world for the next four days.
Michelle Obama delivered a well rehearsed speech clearly trying to dispel the rumors that
she wasn't patriotic enough; trying to bring in women voters; trying to convince Hillary Clinton supporters that the Obamas really do believe in the working class and Blue Collar workers.
Pundit after pundit - at least on MSNBC - called it a proud moment for America. And, indeed, it was. She spoke personally about her mother, her father and set out to personalize her husband - as a real life Dad and a man who has passionate feelings about family and strong values.
Michelle and her kids - Malia and Sasha - stood there looking at the big screen with husband and father. It was natural ... it was honest ... it was very American. "What city are you in, Daddy?" Sasha asks.
As the cameras pan the audience, there were white and black faces drenched in tears. She touched a nerve; she touched hearts. Whether she really pushed enough on-the-fence voters - many of whom are died in the wool Hillary Clinton supporters - is a huge question. She made the case and she did it well. Now, it's up to America.
