While no doctors have confirmed the condition, 'primary fatigue' has been widely reported around the country. The condition has recently developed in the past two weeks.
You can see it on the candidates' faces. Both Senators Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Barack Obama (D-IL) are worn out. There's baggage under their eyes. Their rhetoric is even boring their supporters who are waiting to hear something new. One time applause lines, barely get a stir out of the crowds. And the personal attacks have become as juvenile as a couple of school yard kids talking about their 'mamas'. Maybe that's next!
You can see it from voter's waning enthusiasm. What's scary - and this could be a problem for the Democrats, particularly Obama - is that voters are really showing the signs of 'primary fatigue'. The latest polls show eight percent of the voters are "undecided". All that says is that voters are tried of participating in polls! Of course, CNN and other media are resorting to polling bowlers and beer drinkers to get a pulse of the real Pennsylvania voter. Gimme a break!
Hate to say it, but primary fatigue will last well into the late spring. Obama will not close the deal in the Pennsylvania primary. Clinton will win and continue to attack, right on through the remaining primaries.
So, don't bother go to the doctor. There's no cure. If you live in Pennsylvania, go vote. For everyone else, just turn on CNN at about 9PM tomorrow when they will make their prediction - "based on exist polls". Then, take a shot of your favorite beverage, and get ready for May 6th - the date of the Indiana and North Carolina primaries.
