Almost a week has past since President-Elect Barack Obama won the historic presidential election and folks are still partying, especially here in Washington. Now, I'm all for celebration. I love me some Barack just as much as the next guy, but come on people...must we celebrate Obama's historic win in da club? Why are all the brothas in the club wearing Obama t-shirts and blazers? The deejay is blasting "My President is Black" by Young Jeazy and Nas. The bartender is serving up Hennessey and Votes, Barack-Wins and Tonics, Ciroc Obama martinis. This is craziness. LMBO. I guess the country is really ready for change.

Apparently, we pop champaign for Barack's Campaign...Ohhhh!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiDTYrW8zH8&feature=related

Tonight Barack Obama will be elected the first African American President of the United States of America. Tonight everything I thought that I knew about anything will officially change. I never, in wildest dreams, believed that an African American or that a woman could be a serious contender for what is seemingly the highest elected office in the universe. Now that I have witnessed both, the proverbial boundaries and limitations that existed in my own success have disappeared.

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them for the last eight years and move in a totally different direction.

$700 Billion (repeat). SEVEN-HUNDRED Billion DOLLARS (I’m saying this in a high-pitched Chris Rock voice). Negro please! This bailout is corporate welfare, and we all should perceive it as such. Yes, something has to be done about this floundering economy. I’m just not sure that it should come with a $700 billion price tag. Don’t we owe China enough money?

When Arizona Senator John McCain announced that Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin would be his running mate, my initial reaction was…genius. How clever of McCain, I thought, to turn his old, tired, raggedy, busted (ass) campaign into a historic campaign by choosing a woman as his  running mate. It's too bad he chose the wrong the woman!

Wearing her lucky orange pant-suit, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, delivered one of the best speeches of her career at the Democratic National Convention Tuesday. Clinton had a simple message for her loyal supporters. This election is much bigger than her.

The beautiful, accomplished, poised, intelligent, hard-working Michelle Obama is the Michelle that I aspire to be.

It is tremendously difficult to explain to someone who is not black, what it is like to be black in America. An endeavor of that magnitude, in most cases, is not worth attempting. Still, I'm glad that one reporter tried, although she may have missed the mark.

Cris Bridges, otherwise known as Ludacris, a three-time Grammy Award-winning rapper, calls Hillary Clinton a "b*tch" in a verse of his latest song.
