Binghamton, New York is reeling from a massacre that took place at the American Civic Association, a place that helps immigrants and refugees with counseling, resettlement, citizenship, family reunification and translators.

The U.S. Latino struggle for equality, inclusion and acceptance has always had two faces — the face of Latino citizens, which includes second, third, etc. U.S.-born generations, and the face of the undocumented Hispanic immigrants.

Latino and African-American families most affected 

One of the "hallmarks" of the Bush Administration was its knee-jerk responses and "half-ass" preparations to matters that impacted the country or various portions of the populace.

The election of Barack Obama forces the country to look at people of color and ethnicity in a new light and to begin a new conversation about dropping old labels and adopting new ones.
